To get your children into the spooky spirit of Halloween, we thought we would to give them something fun and creative to do. We ran a competition to design the most frightfully fun bespoke glass for us to install in a composite door in our showroom.

By Friday the 16 October, more than 20 of your spook-tacular window designs had been submitted! We were so impressed with all the entries and we’d like to thank everyone for amazing glass designs. That made judging very difficult for us and it was a hard task to choose the winner.

And the winner is…

Eventually we came to a decision… Kya-Grace! Her design was simple yet spectacularly spooky and included spiders, bats and cobwebs along with a devilish smile and a ‘keep out’ sign. For her fang-tastic design, Kya-Grace won a £30 Smyths Toys voucher and got to see her glass installed in our door!

A big thank you to everyone who entered

Due to the brilliant response, we didn’t want everyone else’s boo-tiful glass designs to go without a thank you! We made goody bags all available to collect from our showroom for all the entrants with lots of sweats and treats in, like Haribo’s, chocolate bars, pens and stickers (all Halloween themed of course) to say well done! The big response meant that everyone was excited to see what their frightfully fun thank you from us was.

Manufacturing the glass

The glass was manufactured here in Derby by our expert designers, who made Kya-Grace’s winning design a reality. The design was created through our CAD system, then the glass was cut and the leading was created by hand.

Kya-Grace’s design takes pride of place in our showroom, showcasing her fang-tastic talent and we shared pictures of the door for all to see on our social pages. The finished glass highlights the amazing work of both Kya-Grace and the artisans who can make your door look exactly how you want it to!
