Mark Brighouse, Technical Representative, Trade Windows
Mark is a familiar face around the Trade Windows Home Improvement Centre as he’s been part of the team for more than 20 years.
Like most of the team, Trade Windows was Mark’s first job in the glazing industry having worked previously at a computer software company, gaining his sales experience there.
Based both in the showroom and out speaking with customers in their homes, Mark works 6 days a week providing customers with advice on windows, doors and roofline. With over 20 years of experience, Mark has seen how the industry has changed and has an excellent understanding of each of Trade Windows, windows, doors and roofline products.
We asked Mark a few questions about his role within the company.
What’s your favourite part of your role?
Well I think everyone who knows me knows the answer to this question, it’s of course having a cup of tea with customers!
But of course with that comes the getting to know our customers, so we understand what they want to achieve and can advise them on what products are best for what they need. Whether it’s in the Home Improvement centre or in their homes, I really enjoy helping customers. That’s one of the great parts of the job, always getting to meet and speak with new people on a daily basis.
Having been with the company for a significant amount of time, it’s great to see customers old and new, we get customers who come back again and again and it’s sort of like seeing old friends. It’s great to have that feeling that you know you’ve done a good job when you see a returning customer. I think for the customers themselves, seeing the same faces greeting them each time they come to the Home Improvement Centre gives them confidence that they are getting the best service possible.
What’s changed over time?
On the face of it my role is very much still the same but as technology has changed, products have changed and design has changed. I still need to know everything there is to know about our products and I still need to be able to give customers the right advice.
Technology has almost definitely made my job much easier and it’s also made the products more interesting. Now you get products which are more energy efficient, have a higher quality spec, so it’s quite a fast paced environment to work in and one that never stays the same.
When are you in the Home Improvement Centre?
At Trade Windows we like to keep the rota very much the same so customers know when they can find one of us. You’ll find me in the Home Improvement Centre every Monday and Thursday afternoon. We have a great display of all our products so it’s easy to show customers exactly what we offer.
Like with the rest of the sales guys, I’m always happy to make an appointment in the Home Improvement Centre or at a customer’s home, any time.
