Opening your bifold doors Derby

Both our aluminium and PVCu bifold doors have been expertly designed to make the most out of your home and enhance the way you live. You can have your bifold doors stacked inside or outside, depending on the amount of available room you have for them inside your home. You can have them either fold away to open in one direction or have them split to fold open on both sides. Also, you can choose whether your doors open from the left or right, which is determined by what will suit the area best and the layout you want to achieve.

Panel options

The size of your bifold door opening ultimately depends on the size of the aperture. So, the larger the wall is, the bigger your bifold door opening can be to make use of the space. If you want to create a larger opening, you will need a rolled steel joist (RSJ) installed. This will add support to your home’s structure.

You can also choose the number of panels for your bifold doors. The more panels you choose, the more space you can add to your home. For example, if you have 10 panels at 1.2m wide, you can enjoy a feature wall of glass that’s an impressive 12m wide.

Panel sizes

Aluminium bifold doors create large openings for your chosen area with impressive panel dimensions of 1.2m wide and 2.5m high along with super slim sightlines of 132mm. Our PVCu bifold door panels are available with door openings up to six metres wide, with up to seven door panels. With these two options, you can tailor your bifold doors to your living space and have them designed to meet your exact specifications and plans.

Traffic doors

Whilst having a wall of glass that completely unfolds is a great way to open your home, it’s worth considering a traffic door so that you can utilise your bifold doors 365 days a year. Once the weather cools down you might not want to fold back all of the panels, so for quickly nipping in and out of the house, a traffic door can be implemented. Traffic doors are built into the bifold door system, but open separately so they can be used as a single door. This way, you can benefit from quick and easy access to your garden when you need to go outside during the cooler months of the year.
