Can I have a pink front door, please?
Front doors became the focus of colour as neighbours got together every Thursday to show their support for the NHS and other front-line workers. Pink is the colour of the moment and a trend for pink front doors started, and now the hashtag #pinkdoor is the most popular colour for doors on Instagram with more than 62,837 posts!
It’s been adopted as the official colour for 2020 and we think the reason it caught on is because it looks truly amazing. Pink is an uplifting colour and generates feelings of creativity, care and passion.
We have two pinks in our 2020 Colour Edit, Miami Sky, a modern and dramatic pink replicating the sunsets over Miami’s famous Ocean Drive; and Cotton Candy that’s as light as air and perfect for front doors framed with rambling roses on a chocolate box cottage. If you don’t fancy a pink front door, but still want an individual look here’s the rest of our 2020 Colour Edit:
Hot Mustard
Wow! This gorgeous yellow says hello summer and welcome home. Inspired by fields of mustard, this is the colour linked to the countryside across the Derbyshire dales.
Cotswold
Cotswold is the colour of the early morning mist as it lifts on a sunny autumn day. Perfect for Derbyshire’s country cottages in our many historic towns and villages.
Nimbus
It might be the colour of cloudy skies, but this is a seriously cool colour for entrance doors. It says we are protected and safe inside!
Stormy Seas
This gorgeous blue gives entrances an up-to-date twist on a classic turquoise, which makes it perfect for modern doors with steel handles.
Bahia Blue
If you want to get away from it all, Bahia Blue offers island life. This is for world travellers who want that feeling of freedom even when they are at home, and it suits both classic and modern door designs.
Victory Blue
Think Colonel Tom, and this is the blue that comes to mind. Victory Blue says classic, strong and determined which makes it perfect for Victorian and Georgian homes. Enhance the colour even more by adding bevelled and crystal glazing.
Duck Egg
This is a quintessential English colour and designed to enhance the classic architecture from the Victorian Villas to 1930s suburban semis. The large proportions of rooms and the generous frontages makes these homes perfect for family living. Duck Egg says a warm welcome to guests.
Ink
The darkest blue with hints of purple create Ink. Choose this colour for entrances to go against crisp white render in modern homes. Perfect for the contemporary styles with chrome handles and simple satin glazing.
Very Berry
Very Berry is another striking colour, and again its ideal for modern doors. Warm and inviting, this luxurious deep red is a bold choice.
Hacienda
Living life to the full? Then Hacienda is for you. The name says it all with its influence from Spain and dark terracotta pots in inner courtyards. Choose a black door frame to add to the drama.
